Hebrews 13:2 kjv ------------------------------------------------------------ Angels By Betty King ------------------------------------------------------------ I’ve never seen an angel. Well, I have never seen a Heavenly Angel. At least I have never seen an angel with wings. To be perfectly honest I don’t know if I have ever seen an angel or not. I have often wondered just what angels really looked like. I have wondered if maybe I’ve looked upon an angel and was unaware I was really seeing one.
There was this once I saw an elderly white-headed lady gently talking to a baby, so soft and sweet she spoke, turning the baby’s tears to smiles; and, … I wondered?
Then another time I saw a man sitting beside the road with a sign in his hand. I assumed he was homeless. He had a little dog sitting close by and I was sure, as he petted him, he had shared what he’d managed to find to eat; and later as I was thinking … I wondered?
A man down on his luck had dinner one Thanksgiving at a center where I helped serve. I had seen him before. He stopped once to chat, when he met me down at the mall. He was friendly and caring and after I left, I … wondered?
A little boy held a door open for me as I attempted to enter a store. He saw I was on a three wheel motorized scooter and he wanted to help. I thought, could he possibly be… I wonder?
A stranger smiled and said, “Hello,” the other day, and I thought to myself, I … wonder?
That stranger beside the road with a flat tire, that I passed right on by that cold winter night, you don’t suppose, I … wonder?
The man in the wheelchair, the one unable to speak, the one with a cup in his hand, you think maybe, I… wonder?
The Bible tells us in Hebrews,“Do not forget to entertain Strangers for by so doing some people has entertained angels without knowing it.”
I collect angel figurines and angel plates. They are beautiful to look upon. I have them scattered through out my home. I never worship them. I fear sometimes there are those who are so caught up in the angel movement; they do actually come near worshiping angels. In Hebrews it tells us Jesus is superior to the angels. And of course we know God is the Father and Christ His Son. No one is superior to our Father or to Christ; so angels do not deserve our worship, only God our Father and Christ His son. In Colossiansit warns against those who worship angels and tells us, “We grow only as we get nourishment and strength from God.” We are not to worship angels. We can admire them, collect their pictures or figurines, accept the messages God sends them to deliver, as they minister to those of us who will inherit salvation, but we must not place them above Jesus Christ or God the Father.
Worshiping angels is not the only warning we have concerning Angels. We are warned that Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.Jesus speaks of the devil and his angels. We must ask God to help us distinguish good from evil, even when it comes to Angels.
In the Bible it also tells us “God, made man a little lower than the angels.” Yet, it says that the saints will judge the angels. There is much that is unknown about angels because they are from the spiritual world. We will have our eyes opened to many things when we enter heaven. I am excited but not in a hurry to have these mysteries revealed someday.
I do feel a contentment knowing that God can send His angels to guard me as it says in, Psalm. They can also speak to me if God wills it, forit speaks of the tongues of angels. God will send His angels to minister to we who are Christians. I know too that God can send His angels to rescue us. He sent an angel to rescue Peter from the clutches of Herod while Herod had him chained and guarded in prison. The angel also spoke to Peter and even then Peter thought he was seeing a vision and was unaware that what the angel was doing for him was really happening. After the angel left him and he came to himself he knew without a doubt God had sent His angel to rescue him.
The Bible tells us that angels will be sent by God “To weed out every thing that causes sin and all who do evil and throw them into the fiery furnace. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.”
No, I am not really sure that I have ever seen an angel. But, I know who I serve, and I trust God to send His angels when I am in need of them, to deliver whatever message He wants me to receive. I also trust Him to send them to watch over, protecting or rescuing me whenever necessary. If God wants me to actually see an angel, I am sure He will open my eyes as He did those in the Bible who saw and where ministered to by angels.
I trustGod to know when to sendHis angels to my eyes. I thank Him for caring enough to send them when I am in need. May I always remember I don’t have to see them to know they are there. I pray He will help me not to be deceived by the angels of darkness, that He willopen my eyes to their deception. May I also remember to show kindness to even strangers, for they may be one ofHis manyangels. I pray He will make me aware ofHis messengers when they come to me in whatever formHe maychoose. I pray He will help me rememberHis messages from angels, are more important thanHis angel messengers.

I sure hope things got better after that. If she lives there for twenty years she will still find old post holes that will need filling. You can never find them all at one time, only by stepping in them it seems. I have been walking in the evenings. I try to walk rather fast to get my heart rate up. I thought it would be a great time to take our dog, Rejin for a walk. No matter how fast I walk, it’s not fast enough for her. She had me running for nearly two miles. So now I have a dilemma, take her with me and walk very fast or leave her at home with her excess energy just waiting to get into something. The last “something” was my favorite sweater.
