as well as books to improve writing and to help in publishing.

To our subscribers who have family members or friends who
are serving in our armed forces, please send their names to be
included in our prayer list and contact me about sending in a
picture. I hope to publish these pictures on a new page to be added
to Write 2 the Heart’s website. This page will be dedicated to our
troops.

We all know people that spend a lot of time and money to make
sure the outside of their body looks and smells its best.
Unfortunately, their attitude ruins the image they want to convey.

                   How Does Your Attitude Smell?
                         By Annettee Budzban

I used to work as an R.N. in an obstetrical unit. Oftentimes, new
mothers would faint when getting up for the first time. For this
reason, we kept ammonia capsules in each bedside stand. Usually
one whiff under a their nostrils was enough to make them
conscious again.

One busy day, a nurse from our unit decided that she would
keep an ammonia capsule in her pocket for quick use. As she
started her daily rounds she noticed a putrid odor. As she moved
from room to room, this smell lingered with her. Her patients
started remarking, "What is that horrible stench?" As she
walked through the hallway, she noticed there was no escape for
from this pungent smell. Then it dawned on her; she was the one
carrying the strong odor. She reached her hand into her pocket and
to find the ammonia capsule had burst.

In our daily life, how often do we check what kind of aroma we
carry along with us? Is it the pleasant fragrance of a kind and loving
attitude, or the stench of bitterness, anger and complaining?
These attitudes send a vapor up to the nostrils of God. Although
we may not smell it ourselves, the Lord does.

We spend a lot of money on perfume and deodorant to cover-up
and add to our aroma, but what about the scent coming from
within? As Christians we should carry a fragrance that will be
sweet to the others we come into contact with, not one that will
make them want to avoid us. Each day as we prepare for our daily
tasks, we need to check that we have the right fragrance along.

"They are the fragrant odor of an offering and sacrifice
which  God welcomes and in which He delights."
Phillipians 4:18 (AMP)

When the first of my four sons left home for college and
training for the armed forces, I proudly pressed a calling card into
his hand to encourage him to call home. Unfortunately, when
my telephone bill came in, I found he had called every
acquaintance he knew… but not me! I finally wised up and got
an 800 number from PowerNet Global through Cognigen. They
also offer long distance and many other telecommunication
products. You can make a free comparison of your currant long
distance rates at http://ld.net/?cbspeir.

                     Letters From Our Readers

God is so good to take care of us when we can’t do anything for
ourselves. He really was with Ellie that day. Great story.

I shudder to think what could have happened to Ellie. He really
had his angels working overtime that day!

                           Cheryl’s Corner

I honestly thought we would hug and kiss our soldiers and send
them on their way, instead they are being honored daily. The
whole community has rallied to send our troops off. There has
been a lunch everyday since Sunday hosted by various groups for
our troops and their families. Tomorrow will be the last big lunch
before they board a bus and are paraded out of town. Tim will have
enough family there that we could form our own parade. I have
been gathering flags and making yellow ribbon pins for all of us to
wear. My grandsons can hardly wait to stand on the side of the
parade route to wave their flags. I’m sure they don’t realize that
this means it will be a long time before they will be able to hunt
bugs and dig worms with uncle Timmy again.

Blessings,
Cheryl
