I am looking into having this newsletter hosted by Topica. There appears to be more opportunity for promoting and advertising. I will be making a decision this week, if I move this list to them, you will be receiving a letter of welcome from Write 2 The Heart/Topica. So don't be alarmed, I'm not selling; just growing!

May The Fourth By: Cheryl Speir -----------------------------------------------------
Chris was three years old when the original Star Wars came to our local theater. His dad and I debated on weather or not we would take him. Family and friends advised against it; It was a long movie for a toddler. We decided to take him and take turns accompanying him to the lobby when he became bored.
We found seats in the back of the theater, so as not to disturb everyone when we had to take him to the bathroom or to the lobby. Chris crawled up into the big rocking seat and made himself at home. His curiosity and constant chatter made us feel we had made a big mistake. I thought we would be spending more time in the lobby than I had anticipated.
When the theater lights darkened and the film began to roll, he perched himself on the very edge of the seat he was sitting in and gripped the back of the seat in front of him. He never spoke another word or moved from that position until he was forced to take a "potty" break. On returning he assumed that same position till the end of the movie.
From that moment on he was a bona fide Star War's fan. Always more than ready for the next movie in the saga to be released. Always wanting and expecting the newest Star War's toys for his birthday and Christmas. He had nearly every action figure that was made at that time.
I think he has watched the original three movies so many times that he may have the dialogue memorized. He will be 27 this year and I bet if I plugged in a video he would still stop and watch it through.
When he was in high school, his English teacher gave each of her students an assignment of writing their own biography. In it each student had to sum up their their lives in an unique statement. His statement was "May the fourth be with me"! A play on his birthday, May 4, and his love of the Star War's movies. He was so proud of that statement, it became his motto for years.
He's not a little boy any more. He has grown into a fine man with a wonderful wife and two precious sons. Maybe his love of Star War's influenced his decision in joining the Air Force. I can just see him with visions of speeding through the skies.
Because I still remember the little boy who loved Star War's, every once in a while I still have to buy him a Star War's toy or send a book to him. He still laughs with delight upon receiving them.
So once again the fourth of May rolls around. Happy Birthday Chris, May the fourth be with you.

Broken promises we all received We didn't know how to proceed. The promises that hurt us growing up, Left us hard to trust and in a rut. But God's promises we learn to take, When we truly believe...it's never to late. Anger, resentments, the pain of our past, Finally leaves us at long last. Freedom comes and happiness appears, When we let go and shed those tears. Faith in God and God alone, Gives you a new peace in your home. Miracles happen each and every day For God's promises never lead you astray.

Cheryl's Corner
This has been a week of prayer. I had several people write asking for prayer for family and friends as well as a neighbor seeking God's help. My husband and children have even sought special prayer. I am always in awe of how God can move through words spoken by people. There have been wonderful answers and I believe more are coming. I would like to encourage each of you to set aside some time and PRAY. Just talk to God. You will be amazed at how He will use your lives and prayers.
On a lighter note, I just discovered that our old dog, Hoover, was sneaking into the house around Christmas and stealing ornaments off the tree and burying them in the back yard. So far I have dug up two and wonder how many more are in the back yard. There are lots of places he has been digging. I guess that means there are a lot of places where I will be digging. Maybe I will find the remote I suspect him of taking.
God Bless Cheryl
