What do you do when a small bird lands on your fishing pole?

                       Fishing For A Promise
                         Dr. Tommy Harrison

While on a fishing trip, nine miles offshore in the Gulf of
Mexico, I caught a promise

Migratory birds often fly over large bodies of water in route to
their winter homes. I got a reminder about that recently when a
tiny brown bird with green trimmed wings and a crimson spot on
the crown of its head, found a resting place on my fishing rod.
Sitting a few inches above the reel, our eyes met momentarily, and
we wondered what to do next. I remained breathlessly still, while
my feathered visitor rested himself from his long journey.

For a brief moment we shared each other's world. After my
little friend flew away I thought about how much the experience
reminded me of Jesus' ministry to His children. Just when our
journey has become so difficult that we contemplate giving it up,
too tired to carry on, Jesus reels us in and says, "Sit here at my feet
and rest for awhile. Well done my good and faithful servant."
Just at the right time, He is with you to smooth down the high
places and make ready those valleys of despair. Remember:

He is my resting place when I am weary from life.

No matter the time or place, wherever I may be, Jesus is there to
provide a strong branch upon which I may rest my weary soul.

GospeLines Prayer: Heavenly Father, when upon life's journey
I have faltered, You have picked me up; when I have followed the
wrong path, You have chastened me back into the way; when I
have entered the broad gate, You have slammed it shut. Now,
Lord, I am weary...give me a place to rest so that I may continue
on until You say it is over. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen and
amen.

"...ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find
rest for your souls..." Jeremiah 6:16

Write 2 the Heart now has an affiliate program with Cognigen.
They have several long distance plans to chose from. I personally
use the PowerNet Global 4.5¢ Per Minute Plan. I love having my
own toll free number without the monthly fee; I only pay for actual
calls. My family can call home whenever they are out of town. I
have used it more times than I care to remember over the last three
years in emergency situations.

Cognigen has more than just great long distance rates; they have
calling cards, internet access, web hosting services and much more.
You can check out all of their telecommunication products and
services at http://ld.net/?cbspeir.  Looking for an affiliate program?
You will be surprised at all the products and services you will have

                     Letters From Our Readers

Cheryl,
I loved your short story about the "fat possum" behind your
house. It's funny that even the animal control officer was fooled!

One late night we were sitting in the living room with the lights
off, watching television, and we saw the strangest animal outside
our glass doors, eating some of the cats' food out of a bowl. We
whispered to each other, "What's that?!?" as we studied it. I
thought it might be a feral pot-bellied pig (we do have them around
here), then we realized it was just our old dog, Daisy. She would
never have won a beauty contest even in her youth, but somehow
in the dark with just the light from the meter pole shining down,
she looked truly scary.  Bless her heart, she had a sweet
personality, though, and we loved her dearly.

But you wouldn't have wanted to meet her in a dark alley! LOL

                           Cheryl’s Corner

I have made flea traps that have worked great. I have made
traps for bugs in my garden that worked. But how do you trap and
get rid of flu bugs? I feel I have been chasing it all week.

Jeremy had a very bad case of it; I thought I was going to have
to take him to the emergency room before his fever finally broke.
With the headache I woke up with this morning, I feel it broke over
my head.

Grandson, Drew, is in the hospital with pneumonia. I’m afraid
to go visit for fear of sharing the flu with him. So I will pray where
I am and make calls to his room.

God bless,
Cheryl
