Welcome to your latest issue of Write 2 the Heart.

Take a moment to browse our new bookstore at:
http://www.write2theheart.com/html/book_store.html
You will find wonderful books written, or include stories by many
of our talented writers. You will also find books that aide the
budding writer. I highly recommend “Sally Stuart’s Christian
Writers’ Guide,” and “2005 Writer’s Market.” Both are must haves
for all serious writers. They are great tools to find that perfect
market for your writing.

It’s always wonderful to be pampered. When you have two of
your most favorite people doing the pampering, it’s even more so!

                           Mom's Makeover
                         By Pamela Jenkins

I'd worked long hours last week and looked forward to spending
Saturday afternoon resting. I went upstairs and leaned back on the
bed with a good mystery paperback. I planned to read until I got
sleepy. That lasted about ten minutes.

My daughter, Erin, found me first.  She said she was just
checking to see if I needed anything (little angel). I assured her that
I didn't, but she obviously wanted company so I told her to sit
beside me on the bed. Then she suggested that she could braid my
hair.  She has quite a collection of little barrettes. She went
running to get her bag of goodies. Soon I had a mass of colorful
dragonflies, ladybugs and butterflies pinned across my head.

Then she got down to some serious pampering. She brought out
her older sister's collection of fingernail polish bottles.  There was
an assortment of colors. While I read my book, she cheerfully
chattered away about important this-and-that things while painting
my nails. Soon little brother Austin wandered into the room, and
not to be outdone, started "beautifying" Mom in his own way.

While Erin painted my toes, Austin applied some of his small
dinosaur tattoos to my arms, then set about unraveling my braids
and attempting his own hair creations. I think most it of amounted
to knotting.

I thought to myself, why would people pay good money to
pamper themselves at a spa?  What they really need is a couple of
young children and a lazy Saturday afternoon. No Mom ever had
more attention paid to her than I did that day.

Then the moment came that my little ones had worked so hard
for. I was helped off the bed and led to the mirror. All ten finger-
nails were painted different colors, with a topcoat of sparkle added
for brilliance. All ten toes were painted a bright Panic Button red.
Spikes of hair pointed in nine different directions from my head,
and green dinosaurs were liberally applied to my arms. It was
unanimously decided that I was breathtaking.

The afternoon was now spent.  I went downstairs to start
supper. That's when my husband looked up from his recliner,
raised his eyebrows and told me I should get leather pants and a
Harley motorcycle to go along with my new looks.

Okay, so brilliant and flashy is not my style. That evening I
took off the fingernail polish, then rubbed baby oil on the tattoos
until they were gone. I brushed the tangles out of my hair. In a few
minutes time I was back to normal. Well, almost back to normal.

I think I'll enjoy the red toenails for a few more days!

                     Letters From Our Readers

What a beautiful attitude and outlook Jan has regarding life and
allowing God to lead and provide for her, throughout all the many
trials she has been through. She sounds like an amazing person and
I'm sure her children and husband agree!
