WRITE 2 THE HEART Stories that are aimed "Write 2 the Heart" November 13, 2002 Cheryl Speir, Editor, moderator@write2theheart.com ----------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to your latest issue of "Write 2 the Heart"
------------------------------------------------------------
There will be a new author appreciation gift for November, December, and January. I will be sending a 2003/2004 pocket calendar to the authors who contribute stories for those months. ------------------------------------------------------------- I met Bonita in a Christian e-author group. If she says she is going to pray for you, she will and have half the world praying also! ------------------------------------------------------------- From The Mouth Of God By Bonita M. Quesinberry ------------------------------------------------------------- My son was about 3 and loved playing with our neighbor's little girl of about the same age: most of the time, in their front yard across the street from ours, especially after a load of topsoil had been delivered. Many days the two kids joyously ran up and down the mound of dirt, hardly scattering any of it as they giggled and screeched.
One Fridayafternoon just after my husband arrived home from work, we heard the doorbell and he went to answer it. It was the little girl's father gripping our son's shoulder, angrily shouting that James was running up and down his load of "expensive" dirt and that James had better NEVER be caught on his property again. My husband said not a word when the man shoved James through our door and then he angrily stomped back across the street.
The man's wife and I had become good friends, both of us sharing the experience of losinga child to death. I didn't know what I was going to do; because I knew for a certainty that, come Monday morning, she would walk over to discuss what had happened. What in the world would I say to her? As far as I was concerned, her husband had been way out of line and certainly unfair. After all, his little girl had been playing on the mound, too.
Then I remembered Jesus saying He would give us what we need when we need it. So, I began to pray for the appropriate words to say to my friend. The words didn't come, so I prayed some more. Finally, Sunday night I was begging God for the words, but by Monday morning I still didn't know what I would say to my friend.
And, as I had known, when I went out that morning to water my flowerbeds: sure enough, she walked over and immediately attempted to explain as well as apologize for her husband's inappropriate behavior... "but, I guess the best thing to do is to abide by his wishes and not have James over for a while."
"Oh! That's not a problem. Why don't you let her come over here to play?"
I was stunned by the words that shot out of my mouth. Why? After all, they were the very best thing I could have said. The fact is: those words never entered my mind. They simply came out of my mouth. But, my neighbor was even more stunned than I was, because she expected me to be angry to the point of retaliation: "your daughter cannot come over here, either!" In the end, she agreed to her little girl playing in our yard.
What I learned from this is that God always is there for us, no matter how trivial a situation might seem. And, if we take the time to consult Him BEFORE we act and/or speak, the outcome always will be pleasing to the Lord. More importantly, Yeshua is there precisely when we need Him to be there: not a moment too soon, nor a second too late.
My son is 35 now and, over the years, God has shown me time and again of His precise control over my life. He's never let me down through many adversities throughout my 58 years. More importantly, Elohim has used those adversities to manifest Himself unequivocally to those who witness my trials. I could provide a new story to Write2theHeart every week and not begin to cover them all. GOD IS SO AWESOME!

-------------------------------------------------------------- Letters From Our Readers -------------------------------------------------------------- Great story of Annettee's today! I too have an old sewing machine that was my Grandmother's...It is a singer and beautiful, still useful. But, when she used it, it had been in the basement, and was pink and blue from a previous owner. When she gave it to me, we had it redone and beautiful oak wood under it is now showing. I love it because it was my Grandmother's during the last 10 years of her life, and she did so much sewing on that old pink/blue machine....(which was probably the reason she kept it in her basement) LOL Blessings, Diane Dean White ***** Great story. Loved how she uses a sewing machine as a conversation starter on God's love and provision. How do you pronounce her name? Jan (Annette!) ---------------------------------------------------------------

I have exciting news! I am happy to announce that starting in December, Write 2 the Heart will be going out twice weekly.
From time to time I receive a story written by a minor. While I want to encourage creativity in our youth, I am committed to keeping our kids safe. I will not publish any story without their parents consent. I will not use the child's e-mail address, they must use their parents e-mail address or have comments e-mailed to me and I will forward. Many have felt this is extreme for a Christian publication, but I don't want to ever feel I did to little in keeping our children safe from predators.
