My Prayer
By: Pat Bode
--------------------------------------------------------
Dear Lord Jesus, I’m writing to you
To come and reach out to the few,
The few that are struggling deep in their souls,
They so long to be purified and made whole.
Some of their ways need to be mended,
Touch them in a way where they won’t feel offended.
Help them look out for one another,
And show everyone the love of a father and a mother.
I come to ask your blessings and a special gift
I ask for the gift of prophecy so I can help lift,
Lift the one that’s hurting deep inside.
They need your love to rebuild their pride.
They need more faith to believe in you,
Grant me this special gift so I can help too.
Give me understanding of someone else’s heart.
Show them that they too are capable of being taught.
Help me reach out and touch that one,
That one who is looking to believe in someone.
Use me Lord to reach out and save,
The little children who are trying to be brave.
The ones that feel they have no place to go,
Let them know you’re with them as they grow.
Thank you Jesus for all your love,
Understanding, faith and hope from above.
I’m sending you this letter by special request,
So I can reach out to those you want blessed!

In Jesus name I pray, amen!
Thank you Jesus
Love Pat Bode

Embarrassed over a messy kitchen?  Save it for
something that matters, like having your dress
hiked up in the back showing the world what you
don't want people to see.

I always seem to be driving someone
to work these days.  I thought that when kids
left home, you stopped being a chauffeur.

On the way home from taking Jeremy to work
I saw flashing lights in front of me.  I thought
there may have been a wreck. Turned out to
be three sheriff department cars escorting a
school bus.  I figured that a school must be
returning from a competition of some sort where
they had placed well.

As I passed the convoy, I saw a truck in front of
the vehicles pulling a trailer with ”St. Tammany
Junior Sheriff Explorers” written on the side. As
I read that, an unexpected wave of emotion swept
over me. Here were young people who were making
a stand to be on the side of law and order.  Maybe
one day they would become law enforcement officials.
Even if they do something else with their lives, the
lessons learned through this program will stay
with them. How wonderful for a community to
turn out and support their young people in this way.
Can you imagine the thrill they will have telling all
who will listen, “We had the sheriffs department
escort us with lights flashing”. That is an experience
they will not soon forget.

God Bless
Cheryl
