No matter when you come to the Lord, whether it is early in life or
later, the time to begin work in the Kingdom is now!

It’s Never Too Late
By Pamela Nichols
------------------------------------------------------------
I turned 38 this week; the big 4-0 is right around the corner. Far
from dread and apprehension, I feel hopeful and excited! You see,
it’s only been a year or so since I started working to destroy the
extreme emotional and spiritual bondage in my life. Let me tell
you, when you and God get on the same page, expect awesome
things to happen! It’s been the most painful yet the most beautiful
time of my life. I simply don’t know how else to explain it.

Of course, Mr. Hell-bound Satan, once he saw that I was serious
this time, started in with his noise: "Half your life is over and
you’re just getting the truth now." I bought it for a minute until the
Lord spoke His truth: "1000 years is like a day to me" and "I’ll
restore the years the locust destroyed.” What a different
perspective!

If I were to leave for glory tonight, believe me when I tell you that
this last year or so has brought me more joy and peace than the
other 37 combined. And that brings me to the point of this text.
It’s easy to lose your way emotionally when you’ve been beat,
violated and rejected by others. But is that what you want your life
to amount to? Is your stuff so bad that God Almighty can’t fix it?
Of course not!

Nichole Nordeman has a beautiful song out called "Legacy" (It’s
also the title of her album). In it, she says accolades, prizes, and
acclaim are all right, but what she’s really living for is stuff that
will last long after she’s gone. What’s gonna be your legacy? 50
years after you’re gone, are folks only going to remember the
violation, abuse and similar suffering (if they remember you at
all!). Do you want your kids going to inherit a defeated, half-
hearted existence? Unless something drastic happens (drastic =
inner healing from Jesus Christ that you pass on to them), they
will.

I’m not trying to belittle anyone’s pain or kick you when you’re
already down but, sister, you’ve been down there long enough.
Don’t you know the same situations that keep you captive can be
utilized to totally change your life and the lives of others around
you? I’ve discovered this, so have countless others.

My new friend Alice explains it this way: "Sometimes the bad in
our life is like a rocket. At some point in the trip, the rocket drops
it’s lower half and the extra fuel pushes it even higher. We need to
use the bad in our life to propel us higher towards God." That is so true.

It’s never too late to overcome your past and live the victorious life
Christ died to give you. I’m telling you, if I’d known back then
what I know how, I would’ve been a menace! Nothing can stand
before me! God can turn bad into hell-stomping, demon-fleeing
good! I’m going to live forever- not bodily- but spiritually, through
my children and my works! What Satan meant for bad, God
absolutely, totally and completely transformed for good. And it
doesn’t matter that I’m pushing 40. It’s never too late!!

Betty was wise to listen and give advice only when asked by her
daughter. A special relationship is something we all need to
cherish. I too am amazed at the number of people I know who
limit God in prayer....the weather is a big thing to pray about. I've
noticed it more during this past week with Isabel!

I loved Betty King's story A Mother and Daughter's Afternoon. I
enjoyed reading about the motherly wisdom she used when giving
advice to her grown child. It's not always easy to know when to
speak up, and when to shut up. Betty gave us a wise example of
this in her story. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Dear Betty,
What a great story. Isn't it just the nicest feeling to have a daughter
(even a son) beg a few precious moments fora mother's cautious
opinion and/orguarded advice? Like you, we raised our brood to
be self-sufficient adults, but they always knew we were THERE!
Guess I get the biggest kick out of all of them talking over their
problems with me or their dad, and then going right ahead and
blissfully doing what their hearts told them. So far.....so good.

Betty just never runs out of wonderful stories to tell!! This is
another one of her very good ones. I praise God for her and her
stories. I hope many read and profit from her experiences. She's
certainly a blessing.

Hanging on my closet door is a pair of red Chinese silk pajamas. I
bought them because I thought they were beautiful. There is no
way I could fit into that dainty outfit. So they will hang on my
closet door for me to enjoy the visual feast they offer.

While getting ready for church Sunday morning, David casually
asked, "Why don’t you wear that lovely outfit today?"
"Because dear, it’s a size 6 and I’m a 12," I informed him.

Without missing a beat, he says with excitement, "A 12? All these
years I thought I was married to a 10 only to be pleasantly
surprised to find I’m married to a 12!"

How does he do it? How does he take a potential landmine and
disarm it so that I’m giggling with pleasure?

God Bless,
Cheryl
