WRITE 2 THE HEART Stories that are aimed "Write 2 the Heart" December 5, 2002 Cheryl Speir, Editor, moderator@write2theheart.com ----------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to your latest issue of "Write 2 the Heart" ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ To kick of our second issue of the week, we have a beautiful observation by Denise Sawyer. We also have a poem by Pat Bode who has been with Write 2 the Heart since the beginning. ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- A Walk With God By Denise Sawyer ------------------------------------------------------------- This morning I went for a walk in the beautiful crisp fall air. I had neglected my regular walks for a while. When I think I've gotten too busy, somehow my walks are the first thing to be eliminated in order to create more available time. However, it rarely works that way. Being outside and enjoying the air, the beautiful fall colors, and the peacefulness restores me more than anything else. I come back refreshed from my outing, often with new insights into myself, whatever problems I think I have or my loved ones have.
In the fall, I especially enjoy collecting a few of the colorful leaves that I find on the ground. I have no idea what I will do with all of the dried leaves I collect, but still I continue. I marvel at the beautiful colors and the patterns on the leaves. Each one is different. And most importantly, none are perfect. Each one, no matter how it seems from a distance, has flaws and imperfections, and yet each is beautiful in its own way. I began to think about people. We all have our flaws and our imperfections. Some of us are too heavy, some are too thin (yes, despite that well- known saying, you CAN be too rich and too thin!). We all are beautiful, each in our own way, through our own individual gifts. Just as the beautifully colored leaves on the trees are created through God's natural laws, so are we. And God saw that it was good.

My home is small, but it's my nest, And my Lord Jesus is my guest. He's welcome here night and day, And He comes to me when I pray. My nest is full of Love and Faith, Wherever I go I know I'm safe. I talk to Him everyday of the year, He's there for me and lends an ear. You may think I'm crazy, or have gone berserk, But I take my Lord Jesus with me to work. I ask for wisdom and knowledge to comprehend, And if there is anybody there who needs a friend. Whether I'm at work or at home, I put my Lord Jesus first so I don't roam. When I go home at the end of the day, I thank the Lord Jesus for guiding the way. No more emptiness and feeling blue, For my Lord Jesus is here for you too. Open your home and let Jesus in, And soon you and the Lord Jesus will blend. He'll fill your nest with Hopes and Dreams, And He's there for all the in-betweens. So fill your nest with Jesus too, And by the way reach out to a few.
Thank You Jesus, Love Pat Bode BodeP @ NAVO.NAVY.MIL -------------------------------------------------------------- Pat is very active in her church where she performs puppet skits for the Children's Church. She is a widow raising a teenaged daughter. She would appreciate prayer for her sister who has been in the hospital since before Thanksgiving. -------------------------------------------------------------- Letters From Our Readers -------------------------------------------------------------- A big thanks to Betty King for her story about a special Christmas. It's a great reminder of what the season is all about. Bless her and her family for sharing their joy and love with others who need to feel loved. ~ Pamela Jenkins ***** What a wonderful story. Betty's family celebrated the true meaning of Christmas. I can see why her family won't forget it. Kellie

Cheryl's Corner
I decorated my tree last night. I always loved the look of ribbon streamers on trees, but knew it would be very pricey for my seven-foot tree. I copied the look with tulle. I bought four yards and cut it into wide strips. After I placed all the ornaments on the tree, I swaged the tulle strips on. It gives the tree a gossamer affect.
Now that my tree is decorated, maybe I can wrap the gifts stored in my room. We can hardly move through the bedroom because of the gifts lining the walls and stuffing the closet. We have to be very careful if we get up at night not to trip. I would hate to have to tell anyone that I broke a limb because of Christmas.
