Usually people print tributes to their mother. Lisa reflects on mothering. I think her thoughts will strike a responsive cord with all parents. ---------------------------------------------------------- I Want Them To Know By Lisa Easterling ----------------------------------------------------------
When I am gone, and my children think of me, I want them to know...
That I always loved setting aside time for them.
That I loved them with my whole heart.
That I loved their daddy with my whole heart.
That I cared what they were thinking when they stared at the ceiling at three in the morning thinking about a conflict with a friend.
That I never got tired of baking cookie cakes.
That I wanted to bless them somehow by the words I've written down throughout my life.
That I wanted to give them more for Christmas.
That I wanted to teach them they can get through anything just taking it one step at a time.
That I loved riding roller coasters with them.
That I loved living a roller coaster with them.
That I checked on them in the middle of the night just to watch them sleep.
That I think they're beautiful.
That I danced to Vivaldi when no one was looking.
That I didn't really hate the dog.
That I appreciated every chore they did.
That I never regretted a moment I spent serving them.
That I trusted them.
That I'm sorry for every missed opportunity to say I'm sorry.
That I forgive them for anything they might be holding onto with guilt.
That I loved making them laugh.
That I tried to be a rad mom.
That I knew all along they would turn out wonderful.
That I believed in them.
That I wanted to show them that beauty inside means far more than beauty outside.
That I really just wanted to be REAL.
That I thought their daddy was the handsomest man that ever graced the earth.
That I tried to be a good friend.
That I loved God with everything in me, and even some I didn't know was there.
That I want more than anything for them to love Him too.

His humor reminds me of G.K. Chesterton, one of my favorite authors when I was a young man, a long time ago. Chesterton even wrote an essay titled, "In Defense of Nonsense."
For making me laugh so early in the morning, THANKS PETE! Paul Leadem **** Dear Pete, Your story struck a chord with me. I have often thought they should offer courses entitled Fast Food 101. I found your writing very amusing......keep at it....we need more light-hearted writing and welcome to the write2theheart family. Your are obviously a kindred spirit with your almost eleven grandkids! Rose Wade-Schambach **** Chocklate cream fudge pie... I can hear the weight growing around his belly now !!!! Happy Birthday David Bubba and Maboa --------------------------------------------------------- Cheryl's Corner
David an old bathtub into a fountain for me when we first moved into this house. He recently adjusted the water flow so that the water arcs higher and further, causing greater splash. I have to keep an eye on the water level. While adding water yesterday, I noticed a pair of eyes looking back at me. My first thought was SNAKE! How do you kill a Water Moccasin in a water garden? Looking closer, I had to laugh at myself. One of my neighbors aquatic frogs have migrated to my water garden to enjoy the water plants I have growing. I wonder if he is enjoying the goldfish as well?
