WRITE 2 THE HEART Stories that are aimed "Write 2 the Heart" September 12, 2001 Volume 1, Issue 35 Cheryl Speir, Editor, moderator@write2theheart.com -------------------------------------------------------- By subscription only! Welcome to your next issue of "WRITE 2 THE HEART" You are receiving this FREE newsletter because you requested a subscription or a friend generously forwarded their copy to you. ----------------------------------------------------- I had thought of suspending this week's issue due to the recent heartbreaking events. No sooner had the thought entered my mind than I felt the tugging of the Holy Spirit reminding me that now is the time to draw closer to Him. I don't believe it was an accident that these two poems by Maggie Scott, that paint a beautiful picture of the Church were selected for this issue last week. ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Where the Water Flows Free By: Maggie Scott --------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------- I have found the place Always, I had wanted to be Satisfying, any thirst Where the Water flows free
For so much of my life Behind, my laughter, I would cry Thinking, a time would come When, I would die
Then, I heard the story Of Jesus, at the well Just like, that woman To me, He did tell
My blood was shed To make, all mankind free When, they come, in repentance To where the Water flows free.

A church is not a Church Because it is built with a steeple
A building becomes a church When the Church is in the people
A building protects the flesh From the rain, cold and sun
The Church protects the Soul When each passing day is done
A building may have many members The Church has Sisters and Brothers
Those in the building think only of themselves While the Church is always caring for others
This Sunday, When you enter a building Ans you sit down on a pew
You will know if you are in Church Because, the Church will be in you.

Speaking of Monarch caterpillars... my daughter and her husband live in Florida, and they have a new hobby, it is caterpillar/chrysalis/butterfly watching. They have harbored Swallowtail and Monarch "cats" (as they call them) at different times. They had to go to Home Depot for milkweed plants to feed the many Monarch "cats" they found. They have a special spot on a table in the house to keep the "cats" safe from birds.
They found Swallowtail "cats" first on the parsley plants in their herb garden on the patio. They ended up with 17 of them. they brought the plants inside. They had to buy more parsley plants for the hungry critters. They were able to watch them go into chrysalis, and later emerge as butterflies.
They did the same with the Monarchs, buying milkweed plants for the :Cats".
My daughter is a teacher. She took some of the "cats" to her classroom so the children could watch the "miracle" changes. A wonderful lesson. They have created a website to show and narrate the life cycle of the Swallowtail.
My daughter gave me permission to send the URL for the "Callipillar Journal" (a play on the word caterpillar).
Here is the URL http://www.pazooter.com/cats/ When you go there a pop-up will appear saying you don't have permission to view the site, just click OK. In order to view the journal, use the button on the left top next to Daily Diary.
My daughter, Cathy, said when they were shopping in Home Depot, she found three Monarch "cats" on one of their milkweed plants. She carefully broke off a leaf and gently transferred the "cats" to it. Then she walked around the store carrying the "cats" while finishing her shopping.
Cathy sent me this note today:
"Please do send the url to your friend. Would love to hear how she does with her Monarch. They make the loveliest of chrysalis.
Our 3 Home Depot Monarchs are doing very, very well. Eating and pooping lots and growing very fast."

I know many of you joined in prayer for the tragic events of yesterday. I would encourage you to continue praying as our country feels the ripple effects of this horrendous act.
Debbie Brady, a past writer, has asked for prayer for her family. Her stepson Trey, a pilot in the Navy, is being sent to New York Harbor and possibly overseas.
My oldest son, Chris has been put on high alert. Tim leaves Monday for boot camp. We covet your prayers.
God Bless each of you! Cheryl
