Maria Harden has been a "closet writer" for as long as she can remember. At the age of twelve, she had two poems published in a young people's magazine, and from that time on, she was hooked. This was the impetus that generated her life-long love affair with the wily word. An eighth grade teacher's encouragement convinced her to pursue her interest in writing. Over the years, Maria was a frequent contributor of poetry to a small-town paper. She became Editor of a job-related newsletter for four years. She now writes for several online sites, and also freelances for the local newspaper.

Previous stories in the Write 2 the Heart archives are: What My Heart Remembers, Hooked on Books, and The Clothes Museum. Her favourite writing theme appears to be poking fun at her own foibles. That, alone, provides fodder for many future stories. Maria is trying to get memories down for future generations to enjoy. Her family is often featured in her stories and they also provide an endless supply of ideas. They are her biggest fans! She lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, with her devoted husband and a cranky cat. Or is that a devoted cat and a cranky husband? She has one son, Jack, and one grandson, Logan. Her family and extended family, friends and on-line friends, have always been her greatest support.

Gale Stevens, a single mother of two wonderful daughters, has written "Like A Hug From Heaven", "The Secret Of My No Worry Success" and "Are We Being Tested?". She has also written several poems, "Super Mom", "God's Seasons", "To My Child", "Grandma's Hands", and "Mother". She didn't begin to write in earnest till after a divorce that took her by surprise. During this trying time she began writing in a journal to help her keep her sanity. She began to notice that the words running around in her head sounded like poetry. After writing these words down, she shared them with friends. God placed wonderful friends in her life to encourage her with praise and support. Gale would like to publicly tell these friends, Dawn, Mickey, Brandon, and Bill, "I love each of you and thank you so much for your continuous encouragment and support". Gale's poetry and writing can be found in the archives of Write 2 The Heart.

Pat Bode The Lord Jesus is my Savior. He brought me out of a pit of dispair. I lived in a shell for over thirty years of my life, a victim of verbal abuse. The tongue can be so cruel. As a result I could not open up and share my feelings with others. I was afraid of people, both men and women. I always prayed to God to help me and He came to my rescue in the form of writing.
Now, I am a person who can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. I place God first each morning, thanking Him for another day. I also pray a prayer of Spiritual Warfare each morning asking my Lord to put the whole armor of God on me.
